- Computer-based test with multiple-choice questions.
- Syllabus: about 20% from Std XI and 80% from Std XII (Maharashtra State Board).
- Result is given as a percentile, and CAP admission uses that percentile.
- Physics tip: Physics and Chemistry share 90 minutes, so speed in Physics decides how much time you get for Chemistry.

- Branch matters. At VJTI in 2024-25, Computer Engineering averaged 16.35 LPA while Civil averaged 6 LPA.
- The highest package is one student. Look at the average to know what most students get.

Dates and the CAP admission process
- RegistrationFill the MHT-CET form on the CET Cell website and pay the fee.
- Hall ticketDownload it from the same portal before the exam.
- ExamComputer-based test. This year it comes after the HSC Board exams, with two attempts.
- ResultYou get a percentile. For two attempts, the better score is counted as per the official rules.
- CAP registrationRegister for engineering admission and verify your documents.
- Option formList colleges and branches in your order of preference.
- CAP roundsSeats are allotted round by round. Accept, freeze or float your seat.
- AdmissionReport to the college with documents and fees.
